On behalf of the Sanskriti Board of Directors, I want to personally welcome you to our completely redesigned new website www.sanskriti-dc.org. This website is now in line with latest state of the art technology, capital area look and feel, user friendly, interactive and includes updated community and Sanskriti information. We have also added lots of new features. One of the most important feature is displaying advertisement.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your overwhelming support in our past events - Baisakhi and Picnic. We are glad that our best efforts to organize a quality event have been well appreciated. At the same time, it raises the expectation about our future events and we are doing our best to take up that challenge. And our next challenge is - our biggest and most important festival in our community, the worship of “shakti” or the Divine Power - Durga Puja of 2008. We are making arrangements for exotic food, nostalgic cultural program with both domestic and overseas artists, 'dhunuchi naach', sound of 'dhak' and 'kashor ghonta' and long 'adda' sessions. All of these are the essence of the festive season of Durga Puja and brings joy to our hearts. During this time, all of us away from home, no matter in which part of the world, would like to be with family and friends, hear the sound of 'dhak' and 'kashor ghonta', and feel the festive spirit of Durga Puja. In Washington DC metro area, which is thousands and thousands of miles away from our home, Sanskriti will celebrate Durga Puja on Oct 4 and Oct 5, 2008 at Quince Orchard High School, Gaithersburg. Sanskriti BOD along with the community at large are spending a great deal of time in organizing the Puja festival. It will be well worth spending all this time only if you participate and enjoy to make this occasion a grand success. I cordially invite you to join us in celebrating this great event.
