Sanskriti’s Picnic 2008 was a huge success. In spite of rain and thunderstorm, record number of people (around 170) showed up. There was variety and abundance of food and drinks:
Jhalmuri, Tea, and Coffee for breakfast,
Luchi, moglai paratha, omelette, dimer dalna (alur dam for vegetarians), payesh and soft drinks for lunch,
Khichuri, barbeque chicken, Potato sticks, watermelon and soft drinks for dinner,
Phuchka served by phuchka walla from back home was the hot item and was enjoyed by everybody all day long.
The rain did not prevent the members from accepting the challenge of outdoor cooking on the grill. Khichuri and barbeque chicken were cooked to perfection under the cover of the umbrella.
As soon as the sun peeked over the Park, Sanskriti Board of Directors did not lose a second. They started the games of the day - Musical Chair, Passing the Baby and BINGO. Members had a lot of fun in playing these games and claiming 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes too.
All in all, members, indeed, had a wonderful time at the Picnic. The damp weather at the start of the day could not dampen the spirits of the people. Members were in high spirits and enjoyed the food, games and company immensely. Throughout the day, the sound of laughter and adda echoed in the breeze as families, extended families and friends bonded and spent quality time together.
The Board of Directors thanks each and every member of the community for participating in this event in spite of the inclement weather.
